The Core Strategy
|
Each stage of preparation of the Core Strategy will be accompanied by a Sustainability Appraisal report, setting out the likely economic, social and environmental impacts of emerging and agreed planning policy decisions. A framework for monitoring and implementing the Core Strategy’s policies will also be included. What has been done so far?A number of Preferred Options consultations were undertaken on the Core Strategy in 2005 and 2006. However, the 2007 review of Lincoln’s LDF has identified the need for a revised Preferred Options consultation that updates and expands on the options and themes proposed for the Core Strategy. This consultation was scheduled to take place in Autumn 2007, but has been postponed while further work is undertaken. The pages below explain each stage of the Core Strategy and a further summary of the work we have done so far. The revised timetable for the Core Strategy is currently being considered, and will be included in the next revision of the Local Development Scheme. It is noted that the Government is currently considering dropping the Preferred Options stage from LDF preparation, which may affect Lincoln’s proposals. Any further changes will be set out in future revisions to the LDS. In light of setting up the Central Lincolnshire Joint Planning Unit, the Core Strategy will now be done jointly with North Kesteven and West Lindsey District Councils. We have recently produced a Position Statement on where we are with the LDF which can be viewed here. Submission StageThe comments we receive from the revised Preferred Options Report will be taken into account in preparing the Submission Core Strategy. Core Strategy submission has not yet been timetabled. |
