The Local Development Scheme

The StraitThe Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the timetable for, and describes the nature of, the planning documents that the City of Lincoln Council will be producing as part of its Local Development Framework (LDF).

In May 2005 the Council submitted its first LDS to the Secretary of State, progress on the LDF started and the first milestones set out in the document were met. However, following the Inspector's Reports of the first LDF documents to be examined, it was decided that the timetable should be revised to reflect new understanding of what was required. In 2006, a first revision LDS was published by the City of Lincoln Council.

The most recent LDS to be adopted was in 2006 and set out the timetable for, and describes the nature of, the planning documents that the City of Lincoln Council was planning on producing at that time.

Although this is the most up-to-date version of the LDS, the Council is no longer following its timetable following the examination of the Regional Spatial Strategy. Instead, as a result of the Secretary of States recommendation that joint development plan documents should be produced , the City Council is awaiting the outcome of discussions regarding potential for joint working before revising the LDS.

The current version of the Local Development Scheme is available to download by clicking here.

We have recently produced a Position Statement on where we are with the LDF which can be viewed here.
