The Our City Our Future Vision

The “Our City Our Future” Vision paints a picture of Lincoln in 2020. It describes the key issues, opportunities and priorities that need to be addressed in order to achieve it. The vision has been agreed through extensive consultation, providing ownership and a clear and consistent approach to its delivery and realisation. The vision is firmly based on local needs, underpinned by a shared evidence base informed by community aspirations. The vision is set out in this document alongside the key priorities for change.

Our Strategy

There are many challenges facing Lincoln over the next 20 years that the strategy will need to respond to in order to realise the vision. There are three strands to the strategy which interlink to provide an integrated and effective approach to delivery of the vision.

Targeting our neighbourhoods and regenerating our communities

To ensure that the needs and priorities of existing residents are addressed at a neighbourhood level.

Through the development of a robust evidence base priorities for action have been agreed:

  • Our Children and Young People - Increasing aspiration and achievement
  • Our Health - Tackling health inequalities
  • Our Economy - Ensuring sustainable economic growth
  • Our Environment - Responding to climate change and environmental sustainability
  • Our Safety - Lowering crime and improving community safety
  • Our City – Creation of places that support sustainable communities

Each of these priorities will be supported by a delivery plan detailing the outcomes, targets and partnership actions required to deliver the vision. How performance will be measured and managed will also be identified.

The delivery plans are currently being developed and more information will follow. If you would like further information in the mean time, please visit the Contact Us page here.
