Lincoln in 2009

 This report seeks to capture the character of Lincoln by telling the story of the city in the present day. The emphasis is not upon strategy or the monitoring of performance; instead the focus is on highlighting some of the challenges faced by Lincoln. It provides the context for Lincoln’s Sustainable Community Strategy, and summarises the evidence base behind the priorities and objectives outlined within the Local Area Agreement for Lincolnshire. It also seeks to highlight what is important to Lincoln, showing the stark difference between Lincoln and other Lincolnshire districts.

It is hoped that ‘Lincoln in 2009’ is an easily accessible point of reference for everyone, conveying the headlines, rather than providing in-depth statistical analysis. The reader is encouraged to also read further literature, such as the City Council’s Strategic Plan, and the State of the City Report 2009, to gain further insight into the current situation in Lincoln.
